Stricken Teaser Trailer

“Stricken” is an independent horror movie by Matthew Sconce, with David Fine (“The Pursuit of Happyness”, “Rent”) and Stephanie French in the leads, which I think looks interesting, since it seems to offer a rather frightful experience.

In the center of this nightmarish story, we find the 25-year-old Sarah Black (Stephanie French), who fears that she is losing her grip on reality. After her mother’s death and her father’s brutal suicide, she is haunted by nightmares, fearful visions and a feeling that something dark and sinister is after her. When people she cares about starts to die, Sarah fears she’s up next.

Together with the seasoned detective Scott Aro (David Fine), Sarah must face the evil that has been unleashed, while discovering that some things’ won’t stay dead…

Check out the teaser below, which I think looks rather impressive, with a savagely spooky touch to it.

One thing that’s important for any horror movie, is the sound, without a good sound, much of the fearful atmosphere is lost. I guess that’s something that Sconce knows as well and in “Stricken” he had a rather experience sound team (“Iron Man 2”, “How to Train your Dragon”, “The Last Airbender”, “Fear Clinic”), to cover his back. Will be quite interesting to both hear and see the result.

Currently the movie is looking for a distributor, but it will be screened at the Action On Film International Film Festival, which is held in Pasadena, California, on July 27.
